We install a filtered router in your home that blocks harmful content such as pornography, violence, adult websites, malware, and online risks. All filtering happens at the network level, so every device connected to your WiFi is automatically protected.
Apps only protect individual devices and can often be uninstalled or bypassed. Our system protects every device in your home — phones, tablets, TVs, game consoles, laptops — without needing to install anything.
Not at all. We configure everything for you. Your router arrives pre-set with your chosen filtering level, and we handle all future updates remotely.
No. In fact, the routers we use often deliver better speed, stability, and range than the basic equipment provided by most internet service providers. Filtering happens at high speed inside the router, so you receive fast and reliable internet while harmful content is blocked in the background.
Yes. Explicit websites are blocked at the router level before they ever reach your home. Even if a device uses private mode or incognito browsing, the router still filters all traffic. Kids cannot bypass filtering by changing apps, browsers, or settings.
Yes. With our Advanced Plan, we can restrict specific apps, social platforms, games, or services by device or time of day.
No. The Shepherd Shield Basic Plan protects your home by filtering all internet traffic only when a device is connected to your home Wi-Fi network. Any browsing done over cellular data is outside the router’s control and cannot be filtered.
If you want protection that follows a device everywhere — including LTE/5G usage — the mobile device add-on configures on-device safeguards specifically for phones and tablets used outside the home.
No! While some providers rely on AI to monitor and analyze online activity, we intentionally avoid using artificial intelligence for filtering. Although AI can have benefits, we are not comfortable with systems that learn from or analyze children’s internet usage.
All filtering with The Good Shepherd Network happens locally on the router inside your home — never in the cloud and never sent to a third party. The hardware is remotely managed for updates and support, but your family’s data stays inside your home.
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data. Ever.
A factory reset removes filtering, but we can detect resets remotely and reapply protections. Parents may place the router out of reach if needed.
Nearly all VPN websites and services are automatically blocked. Some advanced VPNs can still connect due to the nature of their encrypted connection methods. Our Advanced Plan lets us apply stricter rules, identify unusual traffic, and provide additional protections to mitigate VPN bypass attempts.
We will help determine the best setup. In most cases, our router replaces yours. If you use a modem/router combo, we configure your system so ours takes over filtering.
Yes. Your new router can use the same WiFi name (SSID) and password so all your devices reconnect instantly.
You can take the router with you. Just reconnect it at the new location and we’ll update your settings remotely if needed.
Only if you want optional device-level restrictions such as Apple Screen Time or Google Family Link. Otherwise, no access is required.
Most installs take 15–20 minutes. Everything is pre-configured before we arrive, making setup very quick.
Just contact us — we handle changes remotely. You never need to adjust settings yourself unless you want to.
Filtering, updates, monitoring, troubleshooting, and remote support. You also receive continuous improvements to blocklists and protection levels.
Yes. The Good Shepherd Network is 100% veteran-owned and operated, with over a decade of military intelligence and cybersecurity experience.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that Christ calls us to protect and shepherd our families with wisdom and care. The internet was not designed to guard young minds, so we create digital “fences” to keep threats away — not out of fear, but out of love. As Scripture teaches, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Just like a shepherd defends his flock, we help parents guard their homes in a digital age.
No system blocks 100% of harmful content, but our filters stop the vast majority. If something slips through, we can permanently block it for your home.
Yes. Parents can request exceptions for work-related websites, services, or entire devices. We can whitelist anything needed for legitimate use while still protecting the rest of the household.
You can cancel anytime. You simply return the router or choose to purchase it outright if you prefer. If you decide to keep the router, we will remotely perform a factory reset so it no longer connects to our management system.
Your filtering doesn’t affect internet uptime. If your ISP has an outage, your router will resume filtering as soon as service is restored.
Yes. We offer optional mobile device setup during installation or via remote support ($5/month add-on).
If you ever need to cancel, we make it easy. You can contact us through the website, email, text, or phone, and we’ll respond within 2 business days. We’ll walk you through returning or purchasing the router—whichever works best for your family
